The advertisement in question reportedly urges consumers to "Stop Grocery Purchases from Retail Shops! We Deliver in 10 Minutes," a message that AICPDF alleges threatens the livelihoods of millions of small retailers and distributors across India.

In a post on social media platform X, the AICPDF expressed alarm over what it described as a "shocking and brazen" attempt to disrupt the traditional retail ecosystem.

The organisation stated that the campaign represents an “open assault” on India’s 1.3 crore retailers and 8 lakh distributors, who form the backbone of the nation’s economy.

“Such predatory campaigns, if left unchecked, will dismantle the backbone of our economy—our small retailers—leaving millions of families in despair,” the AICPDF said.

Highlighting the critical role played by traditional retailers and distributors, the federation urged the government to take immediate and decisive action to curb what it termed as "ruthless attacks" on the retail sector.

According to the AICPDF, unchecked dominance by large platforms could lead to monopolistic practices that undermine economic independence and exacerbate unemployment.

Until 5 pm, Swiggy Instamart has not issued a public response to the allegations.
