VJ Chitra death: How case has unfolded till now  

TV Actress VJ Chitra came to her hotel after completing the shooting on the set. Later the receptionist of the hotel revealed news about VJ Chitra's death and that the police was immediately informed about this. It was also revealed that Chitra had recently got engaged to a businessman. 

VJ Chitra return to hotel

It is being said that Chitra returned to her hotel after a late-night shooting. The time of her return was around 2:30 am. She was staying in the hotel with her fiance. 

Many media reports have been speculating that Chitra was fighting with depression and could have committed suicide as a result of this. 

VJ Chitra Fiance Reportedly Told This to Police

The VJ cum actress got engaged with a Chennai-based businessman Hemant Ravi. According to a report by a TV channel, Chitra’s fiance Hemant had informed police that after reaching the hotel room, the actress went to take a shower. But she did not come out of the bathroom for a long time. Her fiance then informed the hotel staff about this. When the bathroom door was opened with a duplicate key, her body was seen hanging from the roof.  

VJ Chitra Cause of death - suicide or death by natural causes?  

The police have sent VJ Chitra body for autopsy. Police has already started investigating her death. The police is eyeing a breakthrough in the case soon. Suicide angle is being investigated thoroughly too . The picture will be cleared after the autopsy report comes out. 

The investigation is currently underway and all angles are being explored as to what could have led to VJ Chitra's death. 

 The whole South Indian TV industry is mourning her death.

The fans are still finding it hard to digest the news of her death. She is known for her role in serial Pandian Stores. She has been essaying a role of ‘Mullai’ in the show for a long time. Her popularity with this rose to a great level, so much so that the people started referring her by her character name.

Chitra’s family also stays in Chennai. While this news has shocked everyone, the family has still not given any statement on this.
