Aadhaar is for every Resident of India. From a new born to a senior citizen, everyone can enrol for Aadhaar. To check if your Aadhaar is generated or updated (In case you have updated at an Enrolment/Update center). You will require EID (Enrolment ID) to check your Aadhaar Status. The EID is displayed on the top of your enrolment/update acknowledgement slip and contains 14 digit enrolment number (1234/12345/12345) and the 14 digit date and time (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss) of enrolment. These 28 digits together form your Enrolment ID (EID).
In case if you lost EID you can retrieve lost or forgotten EID by your registered mobile number.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE: Check Aadhaar Status, as per UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in/)
1 - Log on to https://resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar
2 - Enter Enrolment ID (EID) and time of enrolment (EID 14 Digit ENO (1234/12345/12345)
3 - Mention date and time as per the acknowledgment slip (optional)
4 - Captcha Verification - Type the character you see in the picture.
5- Click on check status
According to UIDAI website, "The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is a statutory authority established under the provisions of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (“Aadhaar Act 2016”) on 12 July 2016 by the Government of India, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The Aadhaar Act 2016 has been amended by the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Act, 2019 (14 of 2019) w.e.f. 25.07.2019."
UIDAI was created with the objective to issue Unique Identification numbers (UID), named as "Aadhaar", to all residents of India. The UID had to be (a) robust enough to eliminate duplicate and fake identities, and (b) verifiable and authenticable in an easy, cost-effective way. The first UID number was issued on 29 September 2010 to a resident of Nandurbar, Maharashtra. The Authority has so far issued more than 124 crore Aadhaar numbers to the residents of India.
