How to download your Aadhaar Card or eAadhaar

-- Visit the official website uidai.gov.in
-- Click on the 'Download Aadhaar' option
-- You will be redirected to https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
-- Now enter your 14-digit enrollment ID number and 14-digit time and date values.  

The document is valid under Section 4(3) of the Aadhaar Act, 2016, read together with regulation 15(1) of the Aadhaar (Enrollment and Update) Regulations 2016. So a soft copy or a printed copy of Aadhaar is a valid legal proof of your identity.

Section 4(3) of the Aadhaar Act, 2016 - "Every Aadhaar number holder to establish his identity, may voluntarily use his Aadhaar number in physical or electronic form by way of authentication or offline verification, or in such other form as may be notified, in such manner as may be specified by regulations."

The UIDAI is a statutory authority under Section 11 of the Aadhaar (targeted delivery of financial and other subsidies, benefits and services) Act, 2016 which came into force on 12 September 2016. The authority is mandated to issue a 12 digit Unique Identification number call ed the Aadhaar number to the residents based on demographic and biometric information submitted by them to the UIDAI at the time of enrollment.
