To enjoy the benefits of mAadhaar, you must have an Aadhaar linked to a registered mobile number to create an Aadhaar profile in the mAadhaar app.

You can register your profile through an app installed on any smartphone.

However, the OTP will be sent to only registered mobile.

Here are simple steps to register an Aadhaar profile:

  • Launch the app
  • Tap on the Register Aadhaar tab at the top of the main dashboard
  • Create a 4-digit pin or password (memorize this password, as it will be required to access your profile)
  • Provide a valid Aadhaar and enter a valid Captcha
  • Enter a valid OTP and submit
  • The profile should be registered
  • The registered tab would now display the registered Aadhaar name
  • Tap on the My Aadhaar tab on the bottom menu
  • Enter a four-digit pin or password
  • My Aadhaar dashboard appears

Also, the facility to update demographic details such as name, DoB, and mobile number is not available in the mAadhaar app.

Only the address can be updated via the document facility currently.

Another important method to update the Aadhaar card is through your password. You can submit this document as proof of address for your spouse (if it mentions the name of your spouse). Hence, the updates can be done.

A valid Indian passport is mandatory as proof of identity (PoI) for NRI applicants. You may choose to give any other Indian address with a valid supporting proof of address (PoA) as per the list of documents acceptable by UIDAI.

If a person does not have any DoB proof at the time of enrolment, the individual seeking enrolment has the option to record DoB in Aadhaar as 'declared' or 'approximate' if no valid proof of birth is available.

However, to update the DoB in Aadhaar, the Aadhaar number holder must submit a valid proof of birth document.
