You can update your Aadhaar address online. For this, you need to fill out an application form either online or at an enrollment centre.

Once the application is submitted with documents to validate the change, an acknowledgement slip and a URN (update request number) will be generated and given to you.

When you request for the Aadhaar update online, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt that you can print or download. The receipt has a URN and SRN. Here are the steps to check Aadhaar address update status online:

Step 1:  Visit the official Aadhaar website - www.uidai.gov.in.

Step 2:  On the home page, you will find a category for Aadhaar Update.

Step 3:  Under this category, click on 'Check Status - Update done Online'.

Step 4:  Enter the Aadhaar number, URN and SRN. Enter the text verification and hit “Get Status”.

Step 5:  You will be redirected to a page where the status of your Aadhaar update will be displayed.

If you have requested for the Aadhaar update at an enrollment centre, you can follow the steps below:

Step 1:  Visit the official Aadhaar website - www.uidai.gov.in.

Step 2:  On the home page, you will find a category for Aadhaar Update.

Step 3:  Under this heading, click on “Check Status - Update done at Enrolment Centre/ECMP”.

Step 4:  Enter the 28 digit URN number to get the status of your Aadhaar update.
