9th August Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed for banking operations on 9 August 2022 (Tuesday) on account of Muharram (Ashoora) in many cities across India. The information can be seen on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) website.

The banking operations will remain closed in almost all major cities in the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Hyderabad and others.

However, in certain cities banks will be open for banking operations. These cities include Bhubneswar, Chandigarh, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Jammu, Kochi, Panaji, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvanathpuram.

The banks will also remain closed on 11 August, 12 August and 15 August on account of Rakhsa Bandhan and Independence Day.

In certain cities, Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated on 11 August while in many others it is being celebrated on 12 August.

In top metros including Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai, banks will remain open on Raksha Bandhan Day.

They will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jaipur and Shimla. In Kanpur and Lucknow, the banks will remain shut on 12 August.
