Two persons have been arrested for duping nearly 800 people by luring them to pay Rs 3,995 for the lucky draw of an expensive phone. The matter came to light when a person filed a complaint at the Patel Nagar police station. In his complaint, he said that he received a phone call from an unknown mobile number saying that his mobile number has been selected in a lucky draw and he has won a branded mobile phone which costs around Rs 25,000.

The caller asked him to pay Rs 3,995 and share his address with PIN code so that they can send the mobile phone through speed post.

The complainant said that after paying the amount he received a parcel which had a packet of Patanjali Giloy Quath.

The police initiated an investigation into the case and traced the mobile number of the caller on the basis of the CDR. The police found that the mobile phone was in operation in Sector 7, Rohini.

Sajjan Kumar (34), a resident of Naharpur Village, Sector 7, Rohini and Sunny Goel (28), a resident of Uttam Nagar were arrested and the mobile phone used by them to dupe the complainant was also recovered.

Central Delhi DCP Sanjay Bhatia told the media, "The accused had opened a company in the name of "PRIME DEAL" and obtained mobile numbers of various people from different states through Google. They made random calls and trapped the people. The parcels sent by them contained Patanjali Giloy Quath, belt, purses etc. They have cheated almost 800 people till now."
