7th Pay Commission benefit cleared for Odisha PSU staff

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik led Odisha government has announced it will implement recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for PSU employees in the state with effect from January 1, 2016.
CM Patnaik on Thursday directed the concerned department to revise salary of state PSU staff, based on recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission report.

This follows the earlier clearance given to implementation of 7th CPC report for other state employees. CM Patnaik had on August 29, 2017 announced 7th Pay Commission report linked salaries for government employees. However, for PSU staff, the salaries remained not based on recommendations of the commission. The fact that no decision was taken for PSU employees had rankled those affected.

The 7th Pay Commission decision by Odisha government will benefit over 800,000 government staff and retirees.
However, as far as fitment factor being hiked for central government employees is concerned, a decision that will affect over 5 mn government employees, is still hanging fire.
