7th Pay Commission latest news update: First state government in India orders implementation order; big benefit for staff
7th Pay Commission: Jammu and Kashmir finance minister Altaf Bukhari met the media today to convey the good news. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is the first state in India that has taken the major step of implementing the 7th Pay Commission report recommendations. At the same time the state FM rushed to raise concerns over state revenues but added that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has cleared this decision to ensure the commitment she had made earlier is fulfilled in full
7th Pay Commission latest news update: Jammu and Kashmir today become the first state in India to clear the seventh pay commission report recommendations implementation for government employees. The news gets even better as the implementation of the report has been ordered with immediate effect. In fact, the staff will start getting the revised salaries from this month itself. Notably, in even better news, no changes have reportedly been issued and therefore, full implementation of the report is on the cards. Taking to Twitter, the state information department said, “As already announced by Govt, the employees to draw revised scales of pay from current month”.

To make the entire 7th pay commission implementation process final, the government said that the implementation recommendation order will be issued by the state Finance Department by Tuesday evening itself. Going back as far as June 2017, Jammu and Kashmir government had in fact announced that the implementation would happen in April 2018. So today's move was a step towards fulfilling that promise to raise government employees and pensioners pay by as much as 23.5 per cent.

While this has come as great news and be a big cause of celebrations across the state of Jammu and Kashmir tonight, elsewhere, in fact across India, central government employees are wondering when they will see the Centre give-in to their demands to hike their salaries by a fitment factor of 3.68 times rather than the 7th Pay Commission report recommendation of just 2.57 times. With inflation hitting their salaries, government employees have been demanding a bigger hike in order to maintain their lifestyle at an acceptable level.
