Bihar Police has notified a total of 2246 vacancies for various posts namely Sub Inspector, Sergeant and Assistant Superintendent Jail out of which 2064 vacancies are for Police Sub Inspector, 215 vacancies are for Sergeant, 125 are for Assistant Superintendent Jail (Direct Recruitment) and 42 vacancies are for Ex-Serviceman candidates for Assistant Superintendent Jail Post.

7th Pay Commission Pay Scale:
Police Sub Inspector: Candidates applying for the post are offered the pay according to 7th Pay Commission Level-6 (Rs 35400-112400)

Sergeant: Candidates applying for the post are offered the pay according to 7th Pay Commission Level-6 (Rs 35400-112400)

Assistant Superintendent Jail: Candidates applying for the post are offered the pay according to 7th Pay Commission Level-5 (Rs 29200-92300)

Assistant Superintendent Jail (Ex-Serviceman): Candidates applying for the post are offered the pay according to 7th Pay Commission Level-5 (Rs 29200-92300)

Age Limit:
The candidates willing to apply on these posts should be between the age group of 20 to 37 years and also there is age relaxation provided to those belonging to the reserved category. The maximum age limit for reserved category candidates is 42 years.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates applying for the post should have a 10th/SSC/Matriculation/Graduation/Post Graduation in the concerned subject.

Selection Procedure:
Selection for the Bihar Police Recruitment 2019 for 2246 SI, Sergeant and ASJ Posts on the basis of written test which will be held in two parts – Preliminary and Mains. The candidates who successfully qualify the Preliminary examinations will be called for the main exam.

Application Fee:
The General/Unreserved category candidates will have to pay Rs 700, EWS/BC/EBC category candidates will have to pay Rs 700 as application Fees and SC/ST/PH candidates will have to pay Rs 400 as application Fees.
