The advertisement for this position was made on 13 February 2020. This is the third extension by the department in the wake of coronavirus disease that has forced a nationwide lockdown. Earlier, the last date for submitting the application form was 12 April, 2020 which was extended up to 4 May 2020 and then till 1 June 2020, only to be extended till 15 June 2020.

Overall, 10 posts were advertised, out of which 4 vacancies are for unreserved category, 1 each for EWS, SC, ST and ESM (Ex-serviceman) and 3 vacancies for OBC category.

The pay scale for the posts is as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). The posts are (ordinary grade) General Central Service 'Gr' C non-gazetted, non-ministerial in the pay matrix - Level 2. The pay scale for this position is Rs 19900.

The age limit for direct recruits should be between 18 and 27 years. For SC and ST candidates the age relaxation is for 5 years while for the OBC it is 3 years. Government servants up to the age of 40 years can also apply for the job. The applicant should at least be 10th passed and should have knowledge of motor mechanism.
