7th Pay Commission: Inflation in India is rising and it has forced even the Reserve Bank of India to take action by raising key interest rates to cool down prices. The latest happening on this front is that even the US is worried about inflationary trends going ahead and the central bank there, the Federal Reserve has raised rates too just yesterday and is saying it may do so 2 times more going ahead in this year. The hiked was by a quarter percentage point that pushes the funds rate range to between 1.75 percent to 2 percent. Price rise is hurting those who have fixed salaries to depend on. Inflation eats into the pay. Central government employees have been asking for quite some time that their pay should be raised by a formula higher than the one recommended by the 7th pay commission report. As per current salary, they say, inflation is making it very difficult for them to maintain their lifestyle at a normal level. Everything is costing more and they are having to cut down on many expenses that are considered necessary on a daily basis. This is leading to tremendous difficulties in their lives and therefore there was dire need to hike 7th CPC pay.

Over the recent weeks there have been a number of government employees, teachers, pensioners and Gramin Dak Sevaks in the Postal department getting a 7th Pay Commission linked booster shot in their salaries. This marked trend is raising hopes across the spectrum of government employees about good news coming soon about raising their pay according to their demands.
