2.0 box office collection in Hindi: Near Rs 150 crore! Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer smashes another record

2.0 box office collection in Hindi: The Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer has smashed many records since its release. The science fiction film is now one of the highest grossing Hindi dubbed films. The movie's Hindi version has, according to latest statistics, earned  Rs 139.75 crore. 

Though the movie, sequel to Enthiran (2010), has received mixed reaction from critics and audience, it is still dominating the box office. Rajinikanth is playing the character of scientist Vaseegaran and the android robot Chitti. Critics and audience have appreciated the film for its 3D and 4D visualisation and sound effect.

The movie earned Rs 20.25 crore on the first day. The movie's Wednesday and Thursday collection were Rs 9.50 cr and Rs 7.75 cr, respectively. The movie's overall collection worldwide, however, has gone beyond Rs 500 cr.

Directed by S Shankar, the film's collection may go up during the weekend, as was last week. Hindi version of other films that witnessed more earning than 2.0 are Thugs of Hindostan (Rs 151.04 crore), Baaghi 2 (Rs 164.38 crore), Race 3 (Rs 166.40 crore), Padmaavat (Rs 302.15 crore) and Sanju (Rs 342.53 crore).
