2.0 box office collection: The big budget film starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar released today, and expectations are that this mega movie will compensate the losses that Indian cinema world has suffered in 2018. The sci-fi venture 2.0 of Director Shankar has rolled out a blockbuster according to the hype surrounding the film. The film has shattered many records prior to its release, and trade analysts expect it to set new benchmarks at the ticket window in terms of opening day collections. With 10000 screens globally, 2.0 is widest Indian release ever. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles.
 
2.0 film has reportedly received a phenomenal response in the advance booking of tickets and is likely to exhibit the mammoth figures on the opening day. According to BollywoodLife, the Hindi version of 2.0 collection is expected to rake in at least Rs 25 crore on its first day and if this happens, it will surpass the lifetime business of its prequel, Robot (Hindi) on the first day itself. The first part had collected Rs 20 crore during its theatrical run.
 
The report further stated that the film is set to become the next Baahubali of the Indian cinema. "With rave reviews, coming in for the film, we are sure that it will witness a huge growth over its extended weekend of four days," it added. Baahubali 2 raked in over Rs 500 cr in lifetime earnings.
 
Meanwhile Film Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has given a 5-star ratings while tweeting, "#2Point0 is a cinematic marvel... This has style with substance... Director Shankar is a visionary... He hits the ball out of the park this time... Akshay Kumar is FANTASTIC, while Rajinikanth is THE BOSS... SALUTE!"

The Hindi version of 2.0 has been presented under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions. It is the first Indian film, which has been entirely shot in 3D.
