The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) releases both domestic and international air traffic reports every month. Between October 2015 and March 2016, domestic air traffic was a total of 4.48 crore in more than 300 different routes.
Domestic Air Traffic at its peak in March 2016
The domestic air traffic was 78.35 lakh in March 2016 compared to around 62.8 lakh in March 2015, up 25%. The domestic air traffic in October 2015 was 70.08 lakh. It has increased continuously till December 2015. Though it went down slightly in February 2016, the domestic air traffic touched its peak in March 2016. This could be due to elections in various states.
