Early trends show that the BJP is trailing in the state with the most Parliamentary seats at 80. The main parties in UP are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress (INC), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Apna Dal, and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RJD).
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 62 seats, while the BSP won 10, the SP got 5, and the INC had 2 seats. As of trends at 10:38 am, the BJP was in lead on 35 seats, the SP was leading on 34 seats, the INC is leading on 8 seats, RLD is leading on 2 seats, while ASPKR was leading on one seat. In the 2014 elections, the BJP won 71 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting from the Varanasi seat, where he is leading over the INC's Ajai Rai. The INC's Rahul Gandhi is leading in Raebareli, while the BJP's Smriti Irani is trailing in Amethi.
