Sensex ends up 181 pts; Nifty above 8500 mark; Rupee closes flat

Coal India was trading down by 4.45 points or 1.39% at Rs. 316.05 led by buyback approval in its board meeting held on Tuesday. The board of directors have approved buy back of not exceeding 10,89,55,223 equity shares of Coal India. The shares of the company opened at Rs. 322 slightly above its previous closing of Rs. 320.50.
Bank Nifty surges over 122 points at 18,513.65 mainly tapped by private banks performance. Despite sluggish movement from Kotak Mahindra bank and HDFC Bank, the volatility among private banks remained higher. PSU banks too surged on Bank Nifty, but trading at marginal point. ICICI Bank was among gainers on index.
NSE was trading at 8,490.95 up by 23 points or 0.27%. The index have crossed its 8,500 mark in the early opening of the trading session. It is overall positive with 35 advances, 15 declines and 1 remaining unchanged. Axis Bank was top gainer on the index by trading at Rs. 551.95 up 1.39%.
