Monsoon tracker: Delhi is on high alert as the water level in the Yamuna River reached its highest-ever level of 207.81 metres on Wednesday evening, which is above the danger mark, according to the Central Water Commission. Meanwhile, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that NDRF has been informed on rising water level in Yamuna and its help may be sought.
The danger mark is 206.24 metres as per the Central Water Commission (CWC). The river is flowing above the danger level. Moreover, Uttarakhand and adjoining areas of Western Uttar Pradesh are likely to get heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4mm) on July 12. Amid the heavy rains in Uttarakhand, IMD issued an orange alert for July 12.
IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall conditions in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and sub-Himalayan West Bengal on July 11-12.
