UGC NET 2021: December 2020, June 2021 cycles MERGED - Check exam date, last date for online application, exam pattern, issue of admit cards and other details

The UGC NET 2021 aspirants must note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UGC NET December 2020 cycle was postponed, and the June 2021 cycle was delayed. Now, in order to regularise the UGC NET examination cycles, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has merged both UGC NET December 2020 and UGC NET June 2021 cycles. Source: ugcnet.nta.nic.in

The UGC NET 2021 exam are scheduled to take place from October 6, 2021, to October 11, 2021. The exams will be held in two shifts. The first shift will take place from 9 AM to 12 PM and the second shift will take place from 3 PM to 6 PM. Source: PTI

For UGC NET 2021, the age limit for JRF should not be more than 31 years as on October 1, 2021. The candidates must note that this age limit is application for this exam only. As for Assistant Professor, there is no upper age limit to apply in UGC NET. Source: PTI

The UGC NET 2021 aspirants must note that the NET exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. The test will consist of two papers, paper 1 and paper 2. There will be no break between papers. Paper 1 will consist of 50 questions carrying 100 marks. This paper attempts to assess the teaching / research aptitude of the candidate. On the other hand, paper 2 will consist of 100 questions carrying 200 marks.  This paper will be based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess the domain knowledge. All the questions are MCQs and the total time for the exam is three hours. Source: PTI
