Several states have started to reopen the schools and other educational institutions in a phased manner. These states have decided to reopen the schools and other educational institutions from September.
School Reopening: The schools and other educational institutions across the country were closed last year amid Covid 19 pandemic breakout. As the situation normalised, the schools were reopened in a phased manner. However, the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases during the second wave of the pandemic again forced the state governments to close down schools. Several states have started to reopen the schools and other educational institutions in a phased manner. These states have decided to reopen the schools and other educational institutions from September. Here are the states that will see schools opening up in graded manner:
Telangana
The Telangana government has decided to reopen all schools and Anganwadi centres from September 1, 2021. The decision has been taken at a high-level review meeting chaired by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on Monday. An ANI report stated that the Telangana CM has issued order to all the ministers and officials of Municipal and Panchayat Raj departments to clean and sanitise all the educational institutions and hostels by August 30, 2021. Tamil Nadu
According to an ANI report, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced on Monday that schools for classes 9 to 12, colleges and polytechnics will reopen in the state from September 1, 2021. Furthermore, the schools and college hostels will be allowed to function. Similarly, hostels for working men and women will also function. Source: PTI
Gujarat
After giving the nod for offline education for Classes 9 to 11 over a month ago, the Gujarat government on Wednesday announced that the schools will also open for Classes 6 to 8 from September 2 with 50 per cent capacity and parents` approval. An IANS report stated that earlier, with daily Covid-19 cases in the state coming down and after giving permission to colleges, polytechnics and Class 12 students, the state government had allowed offline education for Classes 9 to 11 from July 26. Delhi
Haryana
According to an ANI report, the Haryana government has decided to open the schools for classes 4 and 5 from September 1, 2021. The state government has informed that all private and government schools for these classes will be opened from September 1, 2021. It has to be noted that earlier, in July, the state government decided to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12 from July 16 and for classes 6 to 8 from July 23. Source: PTI
Bihar
Last week, the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also ordered all educational institutions and coaching centres to reopen normally. He tweeted from his official Twitter handle, "All universities, colleges, technical educational institutions and schools (from class I to XII) as well as coaching institutes will open normally. The examinations can be conducted by the universities, colleges, schools of the state." Source: PTI
