The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) have announced the dates for the board examinations for classes 10 and 12.
 
Under normal circumstances, the board exams for classes 10 and 12 begin in February and continue till the month of March. However, this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates for the board exams have been postponed till the month of June.
 
An official told PTI, "We have uploaded the details of the schedule for the 2021 Madhyamik (secondary) exams on our website. The examinations will be held with strict adherence to COVID protocols"

In case of class 12, the board exams will start on June 15 and will continue till June 30.
 
The candidates of classes 10 and 12, appearing for the board exams, must keep an eye on the websites regarding any updates on their upcoming board exams.  
 
According to a report by dnaindia.com, Partha Chatterjee, the education minister of West Bengal, stated that the COVID-19 situation in the state is under control. He also added that the decision regarding the reopening of the educational institutions in the state will be taken in a suitable time.
 
It has also been confirmed that the board exams in the state will take place maintaining the COVID-19 protocol.
 
The educational institutions in the state had been closed since mid-March last year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. At present, students are attending online classes.
 
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the datasheet for the board examinations of class 10 and 12. Normally, for the CBSE board, the practical exams commence from the month of January and the written exams from February and continue till March. However, keeping in view the COVID-19 context, the board exams have been slated from May 4. This year, for class 10, the exam will end on June 7 and for class 12, it will continue till June 10. Last year also, the board examinations were postponed in the middle of March but ultimately had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic and students were assessed on a different scheme.
