UPSC notification 2021: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2021 on its website on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

The last date for filling up the application form is March 24, 2021 till 6:00 PM. The UPSC will conduct the examination on June 27, 2021.

Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the website.4) Photo ID card - Candidate should have the details of one Photo ID Card like Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Any other Photo ID Card issued by the state or the central government. The details of this Photo ID Card will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form. The candidates will have to upload a scanned copy of the Photo ID whose details have been provided in the online application by him/her.
5) Issue of admit cards - The candidates must note that the e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website at https://upsconline.nic.in and will be available to download by the candidates.
6) Marking pattern - Candidates should note that there will be negative marking for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type questions.
7) Vacancies - The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 712 which include 22 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
8) Exam pattern - The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages:
a) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main examination
b) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts
9) Age limit - A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on August 1, 2021 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1989 and not later than August 1, 2000.The upper age-limit prescribed above will be relaxable up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to the SC/ST category.
10) Application fee - The candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs 100 during registration.
