Times World University Rankings 2022 LIST: IISc Bengaluru sole Indian varsity under top 350, University of Oxford tops the chart - Check which Indian universities are in the list
The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022 has been announced and University of Oxford is at the top of the list.
World University Rankings 2022 Results: The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022 has been announced. The University of Oxford is at the top of the list, followed by California Institute of Technology and Harvard University at the second and third positions, respectively. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, is placed between the 301-350 position. Incidentally, it is also the only university in the top 350 rankings.

According to the official website of Times Higher Education, timeshighereducation.com, the next university from India is IIT Ropar at 351-400 followed by JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research at 351-400.
It has to be noted that 10 universities from India, including, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi Technology University (DTU), Jamia Millia Islamia, IIT Gandhinagar and Punjab University are placed in the rankings between 601-800.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings does not assign individual rankings beyond 200 and in place puts the institutes in brackets. The University of Delhi has been ranked on the 801-1000 bracket.
According to the THE website, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 include more than 1,600 universities across 99 countries and territories, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings till date.
It must be noted that the ranking table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
The US is the most-represented country overall with 183 institutions, and also the most represented in the top 200 (57), although its share of universities in this elite group is falling.
This year’s ranking analysed more than 108 million citations across over 14.4 million research publications and included survey responses from almost 22,000 scholars globally. The THE collected over 430,000 datapoints from more than 2,100 institutions that submitted data.
