DDMA Guidelines for School Reopening 2021: The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has reviewed the status of COVID-19 in NCT of Delhi and though the overall number of COVID-19 patients and positivity rate has declined, the caution and care has to be continued so that adequate standards of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour have to be followed and any activity which can lead to surge in cases is allowed only after rigorous and due diligence.

It has to be noted that the Delhi government has decided that classes for Class 9 to 12 will begin from September 1, 2021 while classes for Class 6 to 8 will begin from September 8. The DDMA has issued certain guidelines an SOPs for reopening of the educational institutions in the national capital.

The DDMA in its notification has mentioned that people visiting schools, colleges, educational institutions, coaching institutes, libraries and other places will have to strictly follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour and must wear masks and maintain social distancing without fail.

Zee Business reporter Daanish Anand reported the SOPs issued by DDMA to be followed by the schools and other educational institutions, to be followed, after they are reopened.

It must be noted that according to the classroom capacity, only 50 per cent of the students can be called.

The schools should set time tables according to classroom occupancy limousine. Furthermore, the lunch breaks should be stagerred and must take place in open areas to avoid crowding.

The schools in Delhi were closed in the month of March 2020 ahead of a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus.

However, the Delhi government had allowed physical classes for the students of Classes 9 to 12 in February 2021 seeing the decline in daily Covid 19 cases in the country. But had to again suspended the classes following the second wave of the pandemic.
