Today, schools across Punjab also started classes from 5 to 12 standards. These schools have been asked to follow protocols laid down by the Centres for Covid 19. Besisdes, these states and schools have also formulated guidelines to provide students safer atmosphere to study. Let’s look at the schools that are opening this week, from Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, Delhi to Karnataka.
Punjab: Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government has also decided to open schools in the state from classes V to XII from today (January 7). The state’s School Education Department on Thursday issued detailed guidelines for educational institutes in areas outside containment zones to ensure students’ safety amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Gujarat
The Gujarat government on January 6 announced that the schools in the state for classes 10 and 12 will be reopened from January 11. State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the students would have to bring their parents' consent while coming to the schools.
Rajasthan
The Rajasthan government announced that schools, colleges, and other institutions will be reopened in the state from January 18. As per the government directive, measures like social distancing and use of face masks have to be followed in all the places.
Bihar
The government of Bihar has announced that the schools in the states will reopen from January 4 for students of classes 9 to 12. Apart from schools, the Nitish Kumar-led government is also reopening coaching centres, degree colleges, medical colleges, and engineering colleges across the state.
Odisha:
The Odisha government has announced that schools will reopen for students of standards 10 and 12 from January 8 and will follow the detailed standard operating procedures to be strictly implemented by the authorities. However, hostels will not reopen now and the school buses will not be available for the students. Parents can make their own arrangements to take their wards to school
Karnataka:
Regular classes began in Karnataka for class 10 and second-year pre-university (PU) Class 12 students, who will be taking board exams, students from grades 6-9 came to campuses for the Vidyagama programme, which enables continued schooling.
Puducherry: Schools in Puducherry and Karaikal region resumed their regular academics activities from January 4 with all the COVID-19 protocols in place. The government instructed the heads of all government or private schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) to combat COVID-19. Colleges have already re-opened from mid-December for the research scholars, final year postgraduate, and undergraduate students.
Tripura
Tripura government has also decided to reopen schools and colleges from January 4.
Delhi
The Delhi government said that it was not reopening schools yet. The decision to resume classes would depend on when the COVID-19 vaccines are available for the public after the frontline workers are inoculated.
