Odisha Board Exam 2021 News: Class 10 class 12 board exams POSTPONED, class 9 and 11 students to get PROMOTED WITHOUT EXAMS
On Thursday, the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had ordered the suspension of all class 10 and class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state.
Odisha Board Exam 2021 News: Following CBSE's decision, several other state governments have also decided to either postpone their board exams or to cancel them. As per an ANI report, on Thursday, the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had ordered the suspension of all class 10 and class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state. He also stated that the class 9 and class 11 students will be promoted to the next classes without any tests.

Notably, the rising number of COVID-19 cases across the country have compelled the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to cancel CBSE class 10 board exams. The CBSE class 12 exams have also been postponed as of now.
Regarding Odisha Board Exam 2021, Chief Minister Patnaik's office informed, "All students of Class 9 and Class 11 in the academic year 2020-21 will be promoted to the 10th and 12th standards respectively. They do not have to take any tests for this."
Due to the adverse COVID-19 situation in the country, the state governments had to postpone their respective state board exams and have to look at alternate ways to evaluate the students. States like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Maharashtra and others have also either cancelled their board exams or postponed it.
As far as CBSE is concerned, it has cancelled the class 10 board exams. The marksheets for the students of class 10 board exams will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be decided by the board. The CBSE class 12 board exams have been postponed as of now and a decision on the revised dates of the class 12 board exams will be taken after a thorough review of the situation on June 1, 2021.
On Thursday, India recorded the highest-ever single-day spike in the number of COVID-19 cases with more than two lakh cases. As per the date released by the Union Health Ministry, Odisha reported 1259 cases new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Thursday. Also, 523 patients were discharged on the same day.
