Maharashtra Schools Latest News: Maharashtra Government has allowed the reopening of schools from Monday, January 24, 2022.

No student will be deprived of education, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said today. The schools will resume following all the COVID-19 protocols, Thackeray said.

However, the children will be sent to school only after the parents give their consent.

In this regard, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that she had sent the file recommending the resumption of schools to the Chief Minister. The CM has accepted the recommendation.

 

"Schools in areas where coronavirus cases are fewer can restart physical classes for Std 1st-12th and also start pre-primary classes from January 24 onwards. We are committed to safe resumption of schools in the state," Gaikwad tweeted from her official  Twitter handle.

 

In a subsequent tweet, the Maharashtra Education Minister said, "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our schools and especially our teachers for continously ensuring a safe environment for our students. This is the fourth phase of school reopenings, we must continue to observe all Covid-19 protocols."

 

Earlier this month, the Maharashtra government had announced the closure of schools in the state till February 15 as the number of coronavirus cases started to rise from December amid the emergence of the new Omicron variant.

On Thursday, India recorded 3,17,532 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours, as per the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
