KVPY Exam 2022, KVPY Exam Discontinued: The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) exams will be discontinued from 2022, according to a notification issued by the Department Of Science and Technology (DST).
The DST, as per the notification, has decided to subsume KVPY with Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) -- an innovative programme that attracts talent who are interested in science.
"Ongoing KVPY fellows will continue to receive fellowship as per norms from DST," the notification said.
KVPY was a national-level fellowship programme initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology under the Government of India.
Various institutes in the country, including the IISc and Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) recognized the test for admission to BS and BS-MS dual degree programmes.

The objective of KVPY exam was to identify students with talent and aptitude for research, help them realise their academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in science and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.
