Karnataka schools reopening date for classes 6 to 8: Schools are set to reopen in Karnataka from February 22. The state education minister Suryanarayana Suresh Kumar said that Karnataka school resumption date for classes 6 to 8 has been set for February 22.
It has also been announced that in Bengaluru and in regions bordering Kerala, classes will reopen for only class 8, as per a report by livemint.com. Moreover, the students coming from Kerala will have to provide a COVID-19 certificate notifying that they are not infected.

Schools and other educational institutions all over India were shut down since the end of March last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Students have been attending online classes from home. Recently, the state governments of different states have decided to reopen the schools in their respective states.
In Karnataka, the resumption of offline classes for classes 10 and 12 began from January 1. Schools were reopened in the southern state after a gap of almost seven months.
As per the data of the state's health department, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state is 9,45,638. On Monday, 368 new cases were registered but 430 COVID-19 were discharged.
Regarding the reopening of schools for classes 6 to 8, Karnataka education minister said, "Classes for students of standard 6 to 8 to start from 22 February. For schools in Bengaluru district and Kerala border areas, classes for std. 8 only will be allowed. Students coming from Kerala will have to produce COVID negative certificate to attend classes."
The state is yet to take a call on the reopening of schools for the junior classes.
