Karnataka Colleges and Universities Exam News Today: Due to the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases all over the country, there has been a lot of hue and cry from the students regarding the exams. As far as the board exams are concerned, some states have postponed the dates for the board exams while others have not made any official announcement. The CBSE has not made any announcements regarding the cancellation or postponement of the board exams. Demands for online exams instead of offline ones have also been raised.

In Karnataka, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan on Monday has ruled out the possibility of holding online examinations as per a PTI report. Earlier, Dr. Narayan who also holds the portfolio of education in the Karnataka government had also stated that the examinations at university-level, including degree, post-graduation, engineering, diploma and all other courses, would be conducted as per schedule. He also added that the academic activities have been delayed considerably and there should not be any further delay. In case of any further delay, the cycle of course period, test, results, employment, further studies would get cut. The Deputy Chief Minister also ensured that measures have been taken to ensure the academic activities for the year 2021-22 are not affected.
While speaking to reporters after a meeting regarding the recent surge in view of the spurt in COVID-19 cases and on the issue of conducting online exams, the Deputy CM said "It will not be possible to conduct the online exams in the present system. Examinations will be conducted only in offline mode though a few deemed universities may be able to conduct exams online. This will not be possible in the government set-up."
The timetable for degree, post-graduation, diploma, and engineering examinations has been affected a bit due to the ongoing bus strike in Karnataka. Dr Narayan assured that the exams will resume soon after the strike ends.
He also informed that the physical classes in the educational institutions will resume after the pandemic is brought under control and the students have the options to attend classes physically or in the online mode.
