JEE Mains 2021 exams: Coaching centre MANIPULATES exams, solves paper from remote centre in exchange of money; CBI raids 19 locations - here is what happened

JEE Mains Exam CBI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday raided 20 locations across the country in a case related to alleged irregularities committed by a private institution, Affinity Education Pvt Ltd, in the JEE Mains 2021 exams. It has to be noted that the JEE Mains 2021 session 4 exams ended yesterday, September 2, 2021. CBI informed that this institute was charging huge amounts from students by solving the applicant's question paper through remote access from a chosen examination centre in Sonepat (Haryana).

News agency ANI also tweeted about this information from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "Searches being conducted at 20 locations across the country, in a case related to alleged irregularities being committed in ongoing JEE (Mains) Exams 2021 by a pvt educational institution, its directors and associates and other unknown persons: CBI."

A PTI report stated that after registering the case on Wednesday, the agency waited for the examination to get over on Thursday before launching the searches. The CBI teams swooped down at 19 locations in Delhi and NCR, Pune, Jamshedpur, Indore and Bangalore, they said.

According to the PTI report, RC Joshi, CBI Spokesperson said, "The searches led to recovery of 25 laptops, seven PCs, around 30 post-dated cheques along with voluminous incriminating documents/devices, including PDC's marksheet of different students."
 
The agency's action came after registration of a case against Affinity Education Pvt Ltd and its three directors, Siddharth Krishna, Vishwambhar Mani Tripathi and Govind Varshney, besides other touts and associates. As per the PTI report, It was alleged that the directors, in conspiracy with other associates and touts, were manipulating the online JEE Mains 2021 exams. Joshi further informed that they were facilitating aspiring students to get admission into top NITs in consideration of huge amounts by solving the applicant's question paper through remote access from a chosen examination centre in Sonepat (Haryana).

The PTI report informed that the accused used to obtain as security aspiring students' marksheets of classes 10 and 12, user IDs, passwords, and post-dated cheques and once the admission was done, they used to collect heavy amounts ranging from Rs 12-15 lakh per candidate across the country.

The JEE Mains 2021 exams were conducted in four sessions this year. The fourth and the final session ended on Thursday.
