JEE Main 2021 exam dates, guidelines: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released JEE Main 2021 notification containing dates, examination guidelines and other details on the entrance examination for engineering. The notification was released on Wednesday. The notification says that the JEE Main 2021 will be held in four times. However, much to the surprise of students, the bulletin was removed from the official NTA website - jeemain.nta.nic.in - a few hours later. The announcement saying registrations were to begin on 15 December was removed as well.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Education later released a statement saying there has been no decision on the JEE Main 2021 exam dates, guidelines as yet.
Candidates should know that since the Ministry has said that the decision on dates is pending, the JEE Main 2021 examination dates given in the bulletin cannot be taken as final dates for the exams. Though other information mentioned on the bulletin could more-or-less remain the same.
The 15 December notification also said that the JEE Main 2021 will be held in more regional languages. The languages mentioned in the now-withdrawn bulletin were -- English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has earlier indicated this. During a webinar with students, Pokhriyal had said that his Ministry will explore the possibility of conducting JEE Main in multiple shifts.
The bulletin said that the first session of JEE Main 2021 will be held in February 2021 which will be followed by three sessions in March, April, and May 2021. “This is being done to ensure that the JEE (Main)2021 does not interfere with the Board examinations, which may be held at different times across the States/UTs,” NTA has said.
The bulletin also showed a change in the question pattern, which was also earlier hinted at by the education minister. According to the bulletin, each subject will have 30 questions instead of 25.

It is expected that changes with regards to the new dates will only be made whenever the NTA comes out with new notification. Other information mentioned in the bulletin are likely to remain the same.
