GATE 2023 Begins Today: Check Exam Day guidelines, Exam Schedule, Exam Timings, Reporting and more details

GATE 2023 Begins Today: The first entrance exam of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 will be conducted by IIT Kanpur on February 4, 5, 11 and 12, 2023 in two slots from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) paper will be conducted in the first shift from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. And in the second shift from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Architecture and Planning (AR) and Mechanical Engineering (ME).
With the first three papers – CS, AR and AME being today, the candidates appearing for the examination must abide by certain guidelines before going to the exam centre. Among all, they must remember to carry the GATE 2023 admit card to the exam hall without forgetting it along with a government-approved ID card.
Here are the other important guidelines to know.
Candidates should also carry an original and valid government-authorised photo Identity Document. Here, no photocopy or scanned copy will be entertained by the invigilator as valid ID proof.
They are expected to report to the exam centre according to the timings mentioned in their admit cards to ensure a smooth entry process as announced on the official website of GATE 2023
The candidates are also advised to log in to the system 30 minutes before the start of the GAYE 2023 exam. They won’t be allowed extra time in case of late entry.
All candidates are said to be provided with a virtual scientific calculator which can be used to answer the questions and hence they won’t be required to carry any calculator to the exam centre.
No physical calculator, electronic watch) or a mobile phone is allowed in exam centre, if found in the possession of any candidate, their candidature likely to be cancelled.
As the invigilators will not entertain borrowing/lending stationery, candidates are also advised to bring their own essentials.
And at the end, the candidates appearing for GATE 2023 examinations must abide by the Covid precautions as those without masks and sanitisers will not be allowed to sit inside the examination hall.
What is GATE 2023
GATE 2023 is a national level exam that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts. IT will be a computer-based test (CBT) which is being organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
