As per a report by The Times of India, parents and guardians of classes 9 and 11 students requested several school authorities to conduct their annual exams online. The school authorities have informed that since classes are now taking place physically, following the reopening of the schools, the exams for classes 9 and 11 will also be held offline.
Soon after the schools were reopened on Friday, about 60 parents of classes 9 and 11 staged demonstrations outside DPS Ruby Park, a reputed school from south Kolkata.
A parent also said that the school should conduct the exams in both offline and online modes as they are skeptical of sending their children to schools amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the school authorities have noted that most parents have consented to send their wards to school. Moreover, CBSE has also issued a circular saying that the annual exams for classes 9 and 11 will be held at schools.
Schools have also felt that the students have resorted to various unfair means during the online exams. Furthermore, because of the online exams, the students were going out of the habit of writing an examination for two to three hours.
