Earlier the state HS council had slated the practical exams for class 12 from March 10 to 31. However, the announcement of the election dates in the state on February 26, has urged the council to allow the schools to pre-pone the practical exams.

The Assembly elections will be conducted in West Bengal through eight phases from March 27 to April 29.

Saugata Basu, a teacher from Uttarpara Government School and general secretary of the government school teachers' association informed The Telegraph that the practical exams in the school would be over by March 11.

Following the commencement of the elections, the central forces will take over the school campuses and the students and teachers will not be allowed to enter the premises.

This advancement of the practical exam schedule will give little time to the students for preparatory classes for the practical exams.
