As the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 students prepare themselves for the exams, a new speculation about passing percentage of the CBSE exams 2021 had been circulating on social media. As per this rumour, that students will required only 23 per cent instead of 33 percent to clear both CBSE exam 2021 class 12 and CBSE exam 2021 class 10 this year.
The government quickly stepped in to clear the air around this claim and dubbed it "fake". PIB Fact Check countered this dubious claim and said that there has been no change in the passing percentage for board examinations.
It tweeted in Hindi, "CLAIM: Passing percentage for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams has been reduced from 33% to 23%.
FACT: The claim is false. Education Ministry has not made any such announcement. There has been no change in the passing percentage for board exams."
Earlier, ever since Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has said that CBSE exams 2021 will be held between May 4 and June 10, the students of CBSE Class 10 and 12 have been waiting for their subject-wise date sheet to be announced. During his last announcement, he has also said that exam schedule will follow in the days to come, however, there is no official confirmation on the same.
Without confirming the date, an official notice on CBSE’s website said that the date sheet for Classes 10th and 12th will be released soon. Students can keep an eye on the official website of CBSE, i.e., cbse.nic.in, and on the official social media handles of Pokhriyal.
