Maharashtra State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had recently confirmed that it is not possible to conduct Maharashtra Class 10 and 12 Board exams before May 2021.
Meanwhile, suspense continued over Central Board of Secondary Exams decision in this regard.
CBSE is yet to announce the date sheet. The premiere board usually announces its date sheet in December, while it had announced the same last year in November itself.
Initial speculations suggested CBSE might postpone the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams or might resort to syllabus cut to provide relief to students. However, later news reports hinted that the CBSE may hold exams earlier than expected. Some experts then have stated that delay in conducting board exams will also hamper the schedule of competitive exams, such as NEET and IIT-JEE. Keeping the options open, CBSE has chosen not to make any official announcement regarding Class 10 and Class 12 board exams so far. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISE) has also not made any announcement in this regard.
