CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 Latest News: At present, 14 lakh registered candidates are eagerly waiting for an announcement on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. When the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 was postponed on April 14, 2021, it was stated that the decision on the same will be taken after a thorough review of the COVID-19 situation in the country on June 1, 2021. Expectedly, a decision on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 is likely to be announced by the Union Education Ministry by today.

Senior officials at the Ministry say that conducting shorter versions of the exams are also under consideration by the central government as per a report by The Hindu. Incidentally, the proposal for conducting exams for only 19 major subjects was also presented by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at the high-level government meeting with the Union Education Minister and State Education Ministers on May 23, 2021.
It was proposed that the the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will be allowed to write their board exams in their own schools and unlike the ususal three-hour long exam duration, exams of shorter duration of 90 minutes with MCQs and short answers will be used. Also, it was suggested that the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will have to be conducted twice so that the students affected by COVID-19 must not miss their exams.
In the meeting, the states and the union territories were also asked to send their written feedback on the same by May 25, 2021. Though there was a broad consensus towards conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021, states like Maharashtra put forward a 'non-examination route'. Also, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia suggested that the students must be vaccinated, or the board exams must be cancelled.
Advocate Mamta Sharma filed a PIL in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 due to COVID-19 situation in the country. The hearing began at the apex court last Friday and was adjourned till Monday. On Friday, the apex court said, ""We permit counsel for petitioner to serve standing counsel for Central Agency, CBSE and ICSE. Sr Adv Das submits he will represent ICSE. List this matter on Monday, 11 am." Yesterday, the bench adjourned the matter till Thursday noting that competent authorities are examining all aspects and are likely to take a decision which will be placed before the court. the apex court has adjourned the plea filed for the cancellation of the CISCE CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 after being informed by the Attorney General that the government will be taking final decision in the next two days.
