CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021: Here is WHAT you need to know about New Date Sheet and other details
Observing the seriousness of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, CBSE had earlier this month cancelled its class 10 board exams and deferred the examination of class 12. The decision regarding the revised schedule or date sheet for the examination will be taken on June 1, 2021.
CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021 date sheet: Observing the seriousness of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had earlier this month cancelled its class 10 board exams and deferred the examination of class 12.
After CBSE, ICSE and several state boards also delayed or cancelled the board examinations. Students who were to appear for the CBSE board examinations can keep on checking the official website that is cbse.nic.in for regular updates.

Earlier, the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 was scheduled to begin on May 4, 2021, as per the CBSE notification. The decision regarding the revised schedule or date sheet for the examination will be taken on June 1, 2021, after a thorough review of the COVID-19 situation in the country.
The revised date sheet for the CBSE class 12 practical exams will also be released in June. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted in March.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has also earlier informed that the new CBSE board exams 2021 date sheet class 12 will be announced after June 1. He also said that students will get a notice regarding the same at least 15 days before the commencement of the examination.
All the details regarding the new date sheet for different streams including Arts, Science and Commerce will be uploaded on the official website of CBSE.
As per the latest information, students of Class 9 to 12 will now be assessed by the board based on the application of concepts in real-life or unfamiliar situations. It will be known as competency-based questions and will include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based questions and source-based integrated questions.
CBSE has also decided to introduce a minimum of 30 percent competency-based questions for class 9 and 10. The question paper will include 20 percent of objective type questions and the remaining 50 percent will be short and long answer type questions.
While for class 11 and 12, the question paper will give 20 percent weightage to the competency-based questions, 20 percent to objective questions and the remaining 60 percent to the long and short answer type questions.
As per a circular by CBSE, this competency-based question pattern is a step towards fulfilling the vision envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.
