Amidst this situation, the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, on Tuesday reiterated his demand of "vaccination or cancellation" in his suggestions sent to the Central government on conducting class 12 board exams.
CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 Latest News: At the high-level meeting on May 23, 2021, chaired by the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and attended by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, there were discussions on how to conduct the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 and the entrance exam for professional courses. There was a board consensus among the states about conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021, however, the states and union territories were asked to send their feedback on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will send their feedback in writing by May 25, 2021. Amidst this situation, the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, on Tuesday reiterated his demand of "vaccination or cancellation" in his suggestions sent to the Central government on conducting class 12 board exams.

According to a PTI report, Sisodia who also hold the education portfolio, stressed on the vaccination of the students before conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. In a letter to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Sisodia stated that if experts suggest against giving Covishield or Covaxin jabs to class 12 students, the central government should procure Pfizer vaccine which has been approved for children above the age of 12 years.
He also pointed out an alternate way of evaluating the Class 12 Board Exam 2021 students. He suggested that results should be tabulated as per scores obtained in last three years by students - class 10, 11 and 12.
The central government had sought detailed suggestions from all the states and union territories by May 25 following a high-level meeting on conducting the class 12 board exams which were postponed in view of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has proposed conducting the exams between July 15, 2021 and August 26, 2021 and the result to be declared in September.
However, apart from Delhi, there are other states also who are not in favour of conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 in the midst of this pandemic situation. For instance, on Tuesday, Bihar Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary told ANI, "CBSE board examinations should be conducted as it plays a vital role in students’ life. However, this can’t happen amid the current situation. But a tentative date should be announced. There is also an option of online examination."

Again, the Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has proposed for a 'non-examination route' for the class 12 students because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students have been studying in class 12th for over 14 months. Personally, I believe that we should remove the uncertainty regarding exams & take a decision that is in student's interest.

Gaikwad highlighted the fact that the health and mental well-being of the students and their families must be prioritised. She further pointed out the fact that the students and the parents have been sharing their concerns on the sitting for the exams amidst the pandemic. Gaikwad wrote from her twitter handle, "Students have been studying in class 12th for over 14 months. Personally, I believe that we should remove the uncertainty regarding exams & take a decision that is in student's interest."
