The CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 was cancelled on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting on this issue. The Prime Minister has also directed officials to ensure that the results will be prepared in accordance with well-defined criteria, in a fair and time-bound manner. It has also been decided that like last year, in case some students desire to take the exams, such an option would be provided to them by CBSE, as and when the situation becomes conducive.

As per a recent ANI report, students may be graded based on their previous year's performance according to some currently surfacing reports and updates from the government. In this evaluation scheme, the grades and performance of the students from Class 9 to Class 11 might also be taken into consideration. Also, according to certain sources, it has also been suggested that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) should integrate CBSE Class 10 Board Exam results, as well as Class 11 and Class 12 internal marks assessment to make the evaluation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results simpler.

Last week, the CBSE Secretary has informed that the evaluation process for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 students is likely to begin within 15 days, He added, "We expect that within two weeks we will decide the criteria on what parameters the result of the 12th exam will be made. It will take about two weeks because we need to do a long discussion because there are 14 lakh students, whose results are to come."

Notably, the CBSE had also cancelled the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 on April 14, 2021, due to the pandemic situation in the country. The marks tabulation policy has been announced for CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021.
