CBSE class 10 Syllabus reduced in this subject: Attention students! CBSE board exam 2021 syllabus has been cut for social science subject; Know how to download

CBSE class 10 Syllabus: Students can now heave a sigh of relief as the the board has decided to reduce CBSE board exam 2021 syllabus for class 10. This will be applicable for Social Science exam. CBSE class 10 candidates can see the reduced social science syllabus by visiting the official website at http://cbseacademic.nic.in/.

As per a report by dnaindia.com, according to the Union Education Ministry, suggestions from academicians across the country were invited regarding the reduction in syllabus because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also stated that the CBSE has been advised to reduce the syllabus because of the COVID-19 crisis. Following the advice of the Union Education Minister, CBSE has reduced 30 per cent of its syllabus in various subjects.

The deleted list of chapters in Social Science for class 10 board exam are as follows:

UNIT 1: INDIA AND THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD –II (HISTORY)
Section 2 : Livelihoods, Economies and Societies
Chapter 3: The Making of a Global World
Chapter 4: The Age of Industrialisation
(Any one of the above-mentioned chapters)
The CBSE has also notified that the chosen chapter is to be assessed in periodic tests and not in the board examination.
Section 3: Everyday Life, Culture and Politics (Complete chapter)
Chapter 5: Print Culture and the Modern World (Complete chapter)

UNIT 2: CONTEMPORARY INDIA – II (GEOGRAPHY)
Chapter 2: Forest and Wildlife (Complete Chapter)
Chapter 3: Water Resources (Complete Chapter except map items which will be assessed in the exam)  
Chapter 5: Mineral and Energy Resources (Complete Chapter except map items which will be assessed in the exam)

UNIT 3: DEMOCRATIC POLITICS –II (POLITICAL SCIENCE)
Chapter 3: Democracy and Diversity (Complete Chapter)
7 Chapter 4: Gender, Religion and Caste (Complete Chapter)
8 Chapter 5: Popular Struggles and Movements (Complete Chapter)
9 Chapter 8: Challenges to Democracy (Complete Chapter)

In order to view the deleted topics of various subjects, the CBSE class 10 students must visit the official website at http://cbseacademic.nic.in/ and click on the curriculum link. The students must select the 'Revised Curriculum 2020-21' option in order to see the deleted topics. Then the candidates can download the deleted topics of various subjects.
