The major highlights of the notifications concerning the CBSE class 10 class 12 board exam candidates are as follows:
1) Students can now appear in the improvement exam in the same year - Under the National Education Policy (NEP), CBSE has decided to give the students multiple opportunities to improve their performance in board exams. The class 10 and class 12 CBSE board exam will be given the opportunity to improve their performance only in one subject in the Compartment exam which
will be conducted immediately after main exam is conducted and the better of the two marks will be considered in the results. The candidates who will improve their performance will be issued combined mark sheet.
2) Change in written/practical exam centre - The CBSE has also issued a notification allowing the class 10 class 12 board exam candidates to change their exam centres keeping in mind the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. Many class 10 class 12 students have moved to other cities along with their families and finding it difficult to attend the exams due to surge in the number of COVID-19 cases. So, the CBSE has decided to allow the class 10 class 12 candidates to opt for a change in the exam centre as per their preference.
3) Extra shift for practical exam - As per the request from some schools for three practical shifts instead of one, the CBSE has granted the permission. This will help the schools to wrap up the practical exams early and the CBSE board exam candidates will get more time to prepare for the written exams.
