CBSE Class 10 board exams result 2021: Clarifying various concerns, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) for teachers regarding the policy for class 10 board exam results 2021 calculation and tabulation of marks.
These FAQs were released after teachers raised concerns over the moderation policy and have been shared with affiliated schools for reference. The teachers and principals of CBSE affiliated schools had raised concerns over the moderation policy listed by the board, timesnownews.com reported.
The marks calculation policy released on May 1 states that the schools have been required to first assess the students on the basis of their internal examinations and mark them for the 80 marks. These marks are then required to be moderated as per the reference year.
While the internal assessment has been accepted by the schools, many questioned the rationale for moderation, citing concerns over decreasing marks of the students.
Many schools also raised concerns over the requirement of filling a certain number of students in the range of marks as shared by CBSE under its moderation policy. Teachers had also raised concerns over choosing reference year in the case of Maths Basic as the subject was only introduced in 2020.
CBSE, to clarify the doubts, has conducted a series of webinars for the teachers and principals of the affiliated schools. It has now also addressed the concerns by releasing the FAQ document for schools to refer to.
The board has clarified that schools can take 2020 as the reference for Maths Basic students even if the reference year of 2019 or 2018 has been selected for the school.
The overall result, however, should match the result of the reference year selected by the board. Other concerns regarding changing members of the result committee have also been addressed.
Earlier on April 14, it was decided to cancel CBSE class 10 exams 2021, while it had postponed the class 12 exams.
