In its notification, the CBSE has notified that the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students will be assessed out of maximum 100 marks for each subject. 20 marks will be allotted to internal assessment and 80 marks for year-end board exams. As of now, most of the schools have already conducted the internal assessment and a majority of the schools have already uploaded their data on the CBSE portal. As per the CBSE notification, the CBSE-affiliated schools will assess the 80 marks of the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students based on the marks scored by the candidate in different tests/exams conducted by the school in the course of the year. Also, the marks should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in CBSE Class 10 Board exams.
Now the question that arises is that what to do in case the maximum marks for the year-end theory exams are 30/50/70 and not 80. In that case, the marks may be proportionately calculated and reduced and then it has to be awarded to the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students.
The maximum theory marks must be cross-checked before calculation. For instance, a student has secured 25 out of 30 marks in the year-end theory exam. In such a scenario, the marks would be converted in the following ways:
1) Out of 50 = 25x50=1250/30=41.66~42
2) Out of 70 = 25x70=1750/30=58.33~53
3) Out of 80 = 25X80=2000/30=66.66~67
On May 18, 2021, the CBSE has issued a notification where it had stated that keeping in view the pandemic situation and the lockdown in several states, the board has decided to extend the dates for the submission of marks. The CBSE had issued a notification on May 1, 2021, where it was kept June 5as the last date for submission of marks and June 11for submission of internal assessment marks. However, now June 30, 2021, has been kept as the date for the submission of both.
