CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021: LATEST updates on results date, marking scheme and other details
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled both Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled both Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021. The CBSE has already announced the marking pattern and promotion criteria for Class 10 students, but the board is yet to take a decision on the marking pattern and promotion criteria for Class 12 students.
For the same, the CBSE has set up a 13-member committee on June 4 to take a decision on the criteria within 10 days. The CBSE is expected to announce the promotion criteria for Class 12 students in the coming week. CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi on June 2 had also mentioned that the board will take around two weeks to fix the evaluation method.

It is expected that the CBSE might have two possible plans for evaluating the Class 12 Board results. The first is the assessment of students on the basis of their performances in Class 10, Class 11 final exams, and Class 12 internal exams, and the other can be the Class 10 board exam results and internal assessments in Class 12.
The Class 10 Board results are expected to announce in June-end. The board had earlier made it clear that the entire process of tabulation of marks will be completed by June 11 and the result will be declared by the third week of June. The CBSE, however, extended the date for schools to upload Class 10 students’ marks till June 30.
The CBSE board Exams 2021 for Class 12 got cancelled after a high-level meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi on June 1. The exams were scheduled to be conducted in May-June and were postponed in view of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CBSE has already cancelled Class 10 Board Exams and announced an alternative marking policy.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia has written a letter to the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal suggesting that the result for Class 12 Board exams should be tabulated taking into account the marks scored during Class 10, 11 and pre-board exams, according to PTI.
Sisodia said that Class 12 students should be assessed on the basis of their marks in Class 10, Class 11, and pre-boards. He has suggested that 30 marks should be given on the basis of the pre-board exams, 20 marks on the basis of the Class 11 results, 20 marks on the basis of the Class 10 results, and the rest 30 marks on the basis of the internal assessment made by schools.
After CBSE cancelled the Class 12 Board Exams, many other states are taking a similar route. These states are now coming up with different methods to evaluate the Class 12 Board Exams.
