As per a report by dnaindia.com, a distinct pattern was followed last year when the exams for certain papers were stalled because of the pandemic. For the students who appeared for three or more papers were given marks based on the average of the highest marks obtained in any three subjects they have appeared for. While those students who appeared for only two exams, the average of the two highest-scoring exams were considered while marking them for the paper which could not be held.
The result for these students, especially those who appeared for less than two papers, was calculated based on performance in internal or practical or project-based assessment.
Regarding the results for CBSE class 10 board exam candidates, the Education Minister further tweeted, "Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams."
Due to the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country, various state boards have also followed the path shown by CBSE and have either cancelled or postponed the class 10 class 12 board exams. The CBSE class 10 class 12 board exams were scheduled to commence from May 4, 2021, and was supposed to continue till June 14, 2021.
