CBSE Board Exam: The fact-checking department of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has flagged a fake website designed as the website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). PIB issued a fraud alert against the website that asked for registration fees for the upcoming board exams through a Tweet.
PIB tweeted, “A registration fee is being demanded from students on a fake website (https://cbsegovt.com) for appearing in board examinations. This website is not associated with @cbseindia29.”
All the students, who will be appearing for the CBSE class 10th and class 12th need to frequently check the official website of the board for the data sheet and any other related details. The link is cbse.gov.in for all the latest CBSE board exam updates.
CBSE began online submission of class 10th and 12th exam forms for the board exams for private candidates from September 17, 2022, onwards. CBSE has designed distinct exam registration methods for regular and private candidates. Regular candidates had to complete the CBSE 10th and 12th board exam registrations through their respective schools, whereas private candidates had to complete the process of registration themselves by logging into the official website.
In a separate tweet, PIB informed that a fake date sheet for the upcoming CBSE board examinations (2023) has also been circulated on social media. The dates for the exam are yet to be declared by the CBSE.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi in response to a question in Lok Sabha on December 12 said that at least 40 percent of questions in the CBSE Class 10 exam and 30 per cent in Class 12 exams in 2023 would be competency based.
"These questions will comprise multiple formats, such as objective type, constructing response type, assertion and reasoning, and case-based," news agency PTI reported.
