Bihar schools reopen date: The CM Nitish Kumar led government is all set to open schools and coaching institutions in a graded manner from January 4.  The decision was taken by the crisis management group of the state on Friday. Initially, Classes from 9 to 12 and Colleges will open for final year students with all the Covid –19 guidelines in place.

It was decided by the crisis management group that Bihar schools reopen date for classes from 9 to 12 will be from January 4 with all Covid-19 protocols. Bihar college reopen date for final year students will be same, while classes will be held in a staggered manner. The same will be applicable for coaching institutions. Schools will have to follow SOPs laid by union ministry for home affairs. An elaborated guidelines for Bihar schools reopening will be laid down soon. The Bihar government will also distribute free masks in every school.

The decision on opening Schools for Classes below 9th standard will be taken after observing the proceedings of the higher-level classes for 15 days, said Sanjay Kumar, Principal secretary, Bihar.

“A review meeting will be held after 15 days of reopening of schools. If everything goes as per plan, lower classes will be resumed later too,” he added.

All educational institutions in the state, including private and government schools and coaching centres,  have been closed since March 15 due to Corona-induced lockdown.  

Many states including, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and a few others, have already allowed reopening of schools in a graded manner.
